Venous Procedures

What Are Venous Procedures?

Venous procedures are medical treatments aimed at correcting vein-related conditions such as varicose veins, deep vein obstruction, or venous reflux. These procedures are typically non-surgical and performed on an outpatient basis with minimal recovery time.

Common venous conditions treated include:

Chronic Venous Insufficiency, Varicose Veins, Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT), Leg Swelling and Discoloration, Venous Ulcers

Our Venous Treatment Services

1. Diagnostic Evaluation: Complete diagnostic assessment including Doppler ultrasound imaging, vein mapping, and symptom review and medical history.

2. Venous Stenting Procedures: For patients with narrowed or blocked veins, venous stenting procedures offer long-term relief. A stent is placed inside the affected vein to keep it open and maintain healthy blood circulation.

3. Sclerotherapy: Sclerotherapy is an effective treatment for small varicose veins and spider veins. A safe solution is injected into the affected vein, causing it to collapse and fade over time.

4. Endovenous Laser Therapy (EVLT): This minimally invasive laser treatment targets larger varicose veins. Using ultrasound guidance, a laser fiber is inserted into the vein to close it off.

5. Compression Therapy & Aftercare: We provide ongoing support through compression garments and follow-up care to promote healing and prevent future complications.

Frequently Asked Questions

Available procedures include sclerotherapy, radiofrequency ablation (RFA), endovenous laser ablation (EVLA), VenaSeal adhesive closure, Varithena microfoam injection, and micro-phlebectomy. The right choice depends on vein type, location, and severity.
Modern venous procedures are minimally invasive, performed in-office under local anesthesia, and have excellent safety profiles. Serious complications are rare. Each procedure is tailored to the patient's anatomy and condition.
A duplex ultrasound evaluation maps your venous reflux and determines which veins are diseased. Based on this, your vein specialist recommends the most appropriate procedure or combination of treatments.
Most in-office venous procedures allow patients to walk out and resume light activity the same day. Full recovery and resolution of bruising typically takes 2–4 weeks depending on the procedure and extent of treatment.
Insurance coverage depends on your plan and whether the veins are causing medical symptoms (pain, swelling, skin changes). Cosmetic-only treatments are typically not covered. Our team can assist with insurance verification.
